Deck Mounted Skylight Installation in Hesperus, CO

Deck Mounted Skylight Installation in Hesperus, CO

Deck mounted skylight installation in Hesperus, CO is the standard way to add a skylight to a pitched shingle or tile roof. The skylight has its own built-in frame that screws straight to the roof deck, with no site-built curb. It sits lower than a curb unit, looks cleaner from the street and pairs with a flashing kit made for that exact model.

Hesperus, CO Skylight Repair starts inside. We find the rafters, check for wiring and ductwork in the attic, and plan the light shaft down to the ceiling. On the roof we cut the opening, add headers if a rafter has to be cut, and set the skylight square. Ice and water membrane goes around all four sides, then the step flashing and head flashing from the kit, woven into the shingles.

Deck mounted skylights generally need a roof pitch of about 3 in 12 or steeper. On a flatter roof, we will recommend a curb mounted unit instead.

Inside, we frame and drywall the light shaft and leave it ready for paint. Flared shafts spread more light into the room than straight ones. Call (833) 548-0266 to talk about sizes and book a deck mounted skylight installation visit.
